Writing a Vedic Will - as I understand it

Sometime back, I used to think that a ‘will’ simply meant how my finances would be controlled by my wife and my children after my death. As I started acquiring Vedic knowledge, my interpretation changed. Following is the gist for writing a Will, as I understand it the Vedic way. Of course, writing a will requires a sound state of mind, two witnesses, signed registered paper with accompanying, if possible, audio-visual link. The first step is to calculate your life earnings. Your earnings are not only your finances earned but also the respect, dignity and image that you have earned in the society. ....read more

3 banned drug cocktails get all-clear from Modi govt but could have few takers in pharma sector

ThePrint

New Delhi: Three more drugs that were banned as part of the Indian government’s first crackdown on fixed-dose combinations (FDCs) or “drug cocktails” in 2007 have received the all-clear from the Modi government, ThePrint has learnt. The decision was conveyed by Drug Controller General of India (DCGI) V.G. Somani — who heads India’s apex medicine watchdog CDSCO — in a letter to state-level drug authorities. The letter, which is dated 8 September and also marked to the Union health ministry, has been accessed by ThePrint. “As per the DTAB (Drugs Technical Advisory Board, a high-level government panel) dated 29 July, there are three more FDCs which have been considered as rational under the 294 FDCs category,” Somani said in the letter.

Bengaluru: 29-year-old doctor, in home isolation, dies due to COVID-19 in Karnataka

Times Now

The coronavirus pandemic is claiming hundreds of lives every day in India, with the overall number of cases going past 43 lakh. While the health authorities have termed those above the age of 55 in the high-risk category when it comes to virus infections, a 29-year-old doctor also succumbed to the disease in Karnatakas Kunigal in Tumakuru district. As per a report in the Times of India, the doctor placed on Covid duty was named Dr. Devraj. He had done his masters from the United Kingdom and was an expert in communicable diseases. He had contracted the virus 10 days before and had been in home isolation. He complained of fatigue and was then brought to the hospital where his oxygen saturation was found to be 65%. “We had all the equipment to treat him including a ventilator and high flow nasal oxygen support. But his condition required expert care. We suggested he be shifted to a better centre at the earliest," recalled a colleague of Dr Devaraj.
